I’m Anna-Lisa, and I want to help people have a harmonious transition.

I support people through the liminal spaces - between life and death, past and present, the seen and unseen, solitude and community. Whether you are facing the end of life, navigating loss, or seeking rituals that bring meaning to transition, I walk beside you with care, reverence, experience, and deep listening.

This work found me at an early age and I began my journey as a companion to the dying as a willing teenager. I joined a companion advocate AIDS program in western Colorado and began this work in honor of a friend I lost at the age of fourteen; a few years later I lived with my grandmother as she died in hospice. The work of being present for the dying continued to call me throughout my life. In law school, it took my mothers death the first year for me to add a Masters in Public Health to my degree so I could advocate for changes to the way we address broken systems. Always, End-of-life caretaking was interwoven as my purpose.

As I have traveled trough life gaining insight and information living in Niger, Indonesia and the US Virgin Islands, I have often considered myself merely a witness to something much greater before me. I engaged with the world through many volunteer opportunities and feel my best when I am helping others. After these travels I am now back in the mainland US and a friend suggested that I have been a death doula all along.

A friend called me after she took a death doula class in New York and said “this is you.” As I read the death doula description, I felt like it was what I had been doing for friends and family for years. I started the process to become certified.

I have limited resources and will only take on up to three clients at a time.

At the same time that I was taking my classes to become a certified death doula I had a calling to take a sound healing apprenticeship. I suffer from chronic pain and know well the value of a note to focus on. I know this is where I am meant to be, sharing sound with those in need of a moment of peace.

I have witnessed the chasms in families when documents weren’t prepared and wishes weren’t known ahead of time. To prevent this suffering for others is my intention to guide families through these difficult conversations in this work undertaken with compassion.

Grieving is the work of remembering. And in facing death, we come fully alive. These truths are not always easy to hold - but you don’t have to hold them alone. If you are navigating loss, seeking ritual, or in need of compassionate end-of-life support, I am here.

A SPACE OF BELONGING

Grief, at its core, is love remembering itself. And it is meant to be held IN COMMUNITY.

Our deepest losses can, in time, reveal our greatest gifts.

Learning & Lineage

My path into this fulfilling work has been profoundly shaped and influenced by a combination of deep study, enriching mentorship, and direct, hands-on experience—guided by the unseen forces of wisdom and witnessed by those who have chosen to walk alongside me on this shared journey. In recognition of this, I honor my dedicated teachers, my ancestors, and the myriad ways in which wisdom has revealed itself along the often winding path I have traveled. It has been my personal experience to have lost friends and family members, among them my mother, who tragically passed away in an accident during my first year of law school. My mother's sudden and untimely death has cast a long shadow over much of my adult life, profoundly influencing the way I view relationships and the transient nature of life itself.

In addition to my lived experiences, my work is deeply informed by ancestral death doula practices, somatic and energetic healing techniques, ritual arts, and storytelling as a transformative practice. My ongoing commitment to regenerative leadership further enriches my perspective in a meaningful way. On another level, I earned a degree in international relations from Georgetown University before embarking on my Legal studies. During this time, I expanded my education by pursuing a joint master’s degree in public health, which gave me the opportunity to take my favorite class: “Death and Dying.” It was during this pivotal course that I felt an undeniable strong calling to this field and have since dedicated over a decade to weaving my diverse background in mediation, intuitive studies, and deathwork into a cohesive body of work that serves individuals, families, and communities alike with compassion. Below are some of the most meaningful trainings, studies, and initiations that have shaped—and continue to shape—my ever-evolving practice:
